In September, we are expecting the release of the iPhone 14 series. There is still a long way to go until then, but the rumor is already swirling. A new leak affects the energy storage of Apple smartphones.
Knowledgeable leakers continue to post interesting information about upcoming devices. And this well before the official presentation. Especially with big manufacturers like Apple, many specifications of upcoming devices are leaked in advance. Now, fairly accurate insider ShrimpApplePro has leaked the alleged iPhone 14 battery capacities on Twitter.

iPhone 14 battery expansion: Energy storage should increase by the same amount
As a result, Apple is expected to fit larger batteries in future iPhones than in current devices. However: Apple does not provide official mAh information for its energy storage devices. The Cupertino manufacturer promises running times instead. For example, Apple is giving up to 17 hours of video playback for the iPhone 13 (here with a contract).
We therefore depend on unofficial sources, such as teardowns, for information on the battery capacity in mAh. The capabilities of the iPhone 13 series were determined during such tests. According to this, the iPhone 13 has a 3240 mAh battery. According to the current leak, the successor model should be equipped with 3279 mAh.
The increase in other models is also quite small. We can therefore expect the biggest jump from the Pro model. While the iPhone 13 Pro (here with a contract) has a 3095 mAh battery, the successor would see an increase to 3200 mAh – a total of 105 mAh more.

What numbers can mean
Apple is apparently planning a few innovations in the upcoming iPhone 14 series. You can get a full rundown of that in our iPhone 14 rumors overview. energy – for example the display. It would also mean higher power consumption. Increasing the battery capacity may therefore have no noticeable effect. However, Apple knows better than almost any other manufacturer how to coordinate the components of a device. One consequence is: very high energy efficiency.
We’ll probably only know how long the iPhone 14 and its siblings will actually last on a single charge when cellphones become available. Until then, you can convince yourself of the endurance of the current iPhone generation in our tests.
